2006 OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
Shooting Starz is a musical talent competition, in search of local, emerging talent to be featured performers with Starz in Motion, and other entertainment opportunities. Genres of music include Pop, R&B, Reggae, Latin, Country, Soul, and Rock. This talent competition is an opportunity for contestants to showcase their vocal talents to the sporting events and other large audience opportunities. All federal, state, local and municipal laws and regulations apply. Contestants must observe all applicable rules and regulations or be disqualified from the Starz in Motion Shooting Starz Talent Competition. Starz In Motion reserves the right to remove any contestant from the talent competition who refuses to conform to the official rules and regulations, as well as any contestant refusing to follow instructions of talent competition officials. Eligibility. Subject to the additional restrictions below, the Starz in Motion Competition (the “Competition”) is open to all US residents who are 16 years of age, or older at the time of entry, have never been convicted of a crime other than minor traffic violations and have never had a professional recording contract. Employees of Starz in Motion, Prestige Promotions, the American Basketball Association, and each of their respective affiliated companies, their advertising and promotional agencies, the immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with, any such employees, are not eligible to enter or to win. The term “immediate family members” includes spouses, parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and grandchildren. Persons belonging to a professional acting, theater or musical organization, such as SAG or AFTRA, are not allowed to compete in the Competition. Persons who entertain, whether it is their whole or part time income, are allowed to compete so long as they do not belong to any professional organization connected with the entertainment industry that would cause Sponsor to pay such Contestant a fee or any other benefit for taking part in any Competition event. How To Enter and Win. (A) Entry: To enter the Competition every Contestant must complete Registration. Contestants have the option to pre-register for the local competition of their choice, or may enter as a “walk up” contestant at their local competition. Applicants will have the opportunity to pre-register for the competition by submitting entries by mail or online to www.starzinmotion.com. Send a sample of your performance (not to exceed 2 ½ minutes) and a photo of the individual(s), along with a contact name, age (of all individuals), telephone number, home address and e-mail address to: Starz In Motion - Shooting Starz Talent Competition All entries must be received by the posted deadline (September 1st, 2006) to be eligible for the talent competition. We will accept one entry per performer (an individual or group). Once submitted, all entries become the property of Starz In Motion and will not be returned. We are not responsible for lost, late, stolen, damaged, or misdirected entry material. Contestants must indicate which local talent competition they will be competing in. A complete listing will be posted on our website. Entries must not contain defamatory or offensive language. (B) Cost to Enter (C) Initial Audition Process. Contestants will report to their local talent competition venue, with their pre-registration form, if applicable. They will be required to show a government issued ID, and pay the appropriate registration fee, if not pre-registered. Contestants will be assigned numbers, according to their order of arrival. Contestants will perform in order of their assigned numbers, by performing a pre-selected cover song. Performance must not exceed 2 ½ minutes in length, and must be performed a cappella style, with no musical accompaniment. (D) Selection of Semi-Finalists. Three to Ten finalists will be selected by our panel of judges to perform in the local competition in each city. Each potential Semi-Finalist and alternate potential Semi-Finalist will be required to submit to a background check and sign an Appearance Release Form. (E) Selection of Finalists. Immediately following the three contestant’s performances, at the local competition, the audience will vote for the best of the three performances. One finalist will be chosen at each local competition. At the end of the national competition tour, we will have all of the winning finalists posted on the www.starzinmotion.com website, with a photo and clip of their performance. (F) Online Voting. For a specified duration, Online Voting will take place. At the conclusion of the online voting period, three Finalists will be selected to perform in the Grand Competition. The three Grand Finalists will receive an all-expense paid trip to the Grand Competition. (G) Grand Prize Competition. The three Grand Finalists will each perform at the Grand Competition. Celebrity Judges will give their opinions and then the audience will have the final vote to select the Grand Prize Winner. Prize. The Grand Prize Winner will get an original song produced for them, inclusive of a producer and studio recording time. They will receive an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles, Miami, or New York City to showcase their song for the industry’s leading record executives in the music industry. The final winner will also receive a performance contract with Starz in Motion and prize packages from sponsors. Additional terms. Entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the judges, whose decisions are final. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification from this competition. Starz In Motion, its associates or employees in no way assume liability for any injuries, or damages incurred in the production of this event.
